NE Apprentice Challenge

When?

• Monday 15th - Friday 19th March 2010.

What?

• Apprentice type challenges run daily from Monday 15th - Friday 19th March 2010.
• Established companies will be leading challenges throughout the week, and KPMG and Microsoft will be sponsoring the event.
  
• This event is very flexible
  
• You can participate in as many or as few tasks as you want to, there will be prizes for each day and so if you cannot partake in the whole week there are still many opportunities for you.
• You can have teams of up to 5 people, but not all members have to participate in a task together (eg. If possible the whole team should come for the registration and workshop on Monday; member1 and member3 can come on the tuesday; member2 might come on Wednesday; whole team might want to do the task on Friday.)

• The timetable is currently being finalised, but as a guide this is what you can expect:
  • Monday:
    
    • Information booklet will be given to participants and all participants are expected to attend the FlyingStart workshop.
    • Challenge:
      • Task Host: FlyingStart
      • Location: Portland Building Ballroom, University Park Campus
      • Time: 9am-4pm
  • Tuesday:
    
    • Challenge: Drop in Sessions for each group, task TBC
      
      • Task Host: KPMG
      • Location: C33 North Building, Jubilee Campus
      • Time: 5pm-9pm (Each team will only have to participate for one time slot - probably lasting no more than 1 hour)
  • Wednesday:
    
    • Challenge: Drop in Sessions for each group, task Pitching for a Business
      
      • Task Host: NACUE
      • Location: C3 Exchange Building, Jubilee Campus
      • Time: 5pm-9pm (Each team will only have to participate for one time slot - probably lasting no more than 1 hour)
  • Thursday:
    
    • Challenge:
      
      • Task Host: Enterprise Rent-A-Car
      • Location: Portland Building Ballroom, University Park Campus
      • Time: 9am-5pm (Each team will only have to participate for one time slot - probably lasting no more than 1 hour)
  • Friday:
    • Challenge: The Apprentice Challenge!
      
      • Task: Selling a given product around campus. Price, package and approach decided by you! Get as many people from your team and demonstrate your talents!
      • Location: Portland Building Ballroom
      • Time: 9am-5pm

      • All the profits added together after deducting costs, made from sales by all teams, will go to the group with the biggest sales figure on that day.

    • Award presentation
      
      • Location: Business School
      • Time: 6.30pm-9pm
        
      • Talk given by Guest Speaker (Leading BBC Apprentice 2009 candidate HOWARD EBISON), Individual task prizes and Overall prize presented, plus Food and Wine!!
      • The totalprize money will be £500
