NE Blinds In A Box Challenge
Event Background
- NE wanted to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week and organise an event to attract attention to NE for the purpose of getting members active, building the member base and attracting sponsorship.
- James Caan was offering students the chance to sell BlindsInABox (temporary blinds with sticky patches that are easy to install and don’t need to be hammered in, etc.) for £5 and keep £2 commission.
- decided to organise a competition internally within the university.
- The rules were that students had 4 days to sell as many of these blinds as possible. The team who sold the most would win £500. All teams also got to keep all of their commissions.
The Winners
- The winning team was “MasterBlind” who sold 228 blinds generating revenues of £1,140. Team “Lumina” came a close second selling 204 blinds, generating £1,020.
How The Event Went
- It was very successful considering it was the first time it had ever been run by NE. 26 teams signed up, consisting of 90+ people. 668 blinds were sold, generating a total of £3,340 in revenue, £1,336 of which was kept by students as commission. One marketing and sales training workshop sponsored by FlyingStart was held with attendees roughly at 100 and at the winning ceremony the owners of BlindsInABox attended and handed over the prize.
